Susan Kay Hatchell

Susan Hatchell, 65, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after a long illness with cancer. She was born in Ottawa, Illinois, on July 5, 1957, the daughter of James Dale and Janet Patricia Marich Haskell. Susan was a Baptist and a retired seamstress. Her hobbies included flower gardening and reading, and she loved her dog, Pud. Survivors include her son, Jimmie Leon Mardis and daughter-in-law, Ashley, of Houlka; and her two daughters, Rhonda Hardin and Janet Barkley, both of New Albany; a brother, Melvin Grimes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; a sister, Patricia Richardson of Arizona; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
