Shirley Wiseman, born on January 13, 1939, in Hickory Flat, Mississippi, peacefully passed away on November 5, 2023. She was surrounded by her loved ones at Sanctuary Hospice Tupelo, MS. Shirley was known for her gentle nature, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
Shirley had a zest for life and found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid fisherwoman, spending many peaceful hours by the water with a fishing rod in hand. Her talent in the kitchen brought delight to those fortunate enough to enjoy her delicious meals. Additionally, she possessed an incredible knack for sewing and created beautiful garments with her skilled hands. Shirley's deep affection for animals was evident throughout her life as she cared deeply for them.
A visitation will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home on November 10, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM The event will allow loved ones to reminisce about cherished memories of Shirley's life. On November 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM, a Celebration of Life service will take place at Glenfield Funeral Home as well. This heartfelt gathering remembers Shirley's incredible spirit and the positive impact she made on everyone she encountered.
Shirley will be remembered lovingly by her surviving family members and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and compassion that will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Among those mourning her loss are her daughters Lisa DeChant from Kansas and Karen Hart (Edward) along with their families. Also grieving are Carolyn Suddreth (Jack) from New Albany and John Wiseman Jr from Memphis along with their families. Her grandchildren include Jake Suddreth, AJ DeChant, Autumn Suddreth, Kayla Kwasinski, and Jamie Turley, along with great-grandchildren Emma Curtis, Grant Keller, and Ansley Coleman.
She is preceded in death by her parents Roy Butler and Madie Hudson, and her loving husband of 62 years John Wiseman SR. She is also preceded in death by her sisters Beatrice Muse, Velma Patterson, and Louise Hutchens, and her brothers Harold Butler and Ezra Butler.
Shirley Wiseman will be remembered as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She touched the lives of those around her through her kindness, love, and unwavering support. Her memory will continue to inspire those who knew her to embrace life's joys and prioritize the bonds of family and friendship.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley's honor to Ebeneezer Presbyterian Church and The Pentecostal Church of Blue Mountain MS.
May Shirley's soul find eternal peace, and may her loved ones find solace in the beautiful memories they shared with her. She will forever remain in our hearts.
