Mary Virginia Weldon

Mary Virginia Weldon, 75, died Monday, November 21, 2022, at Prattville Baptist Hospital in Prattville, Alabama. Mrs. Weldon was born in Peoria, Illinois, on October 2, 1947, the daughter of James "Pops" Henry and Annie Ruth Altman Trotter. She was a Baptist and had been employed by the U. S. Census Bureau. Her hobby was crocheting and she loved her family. Survivors include one son, Lee Howell and wife, Shannon, of Prattville, Alabama; two daughters, Mary Jane Griggs of Pontotoc, and Donna Marie McCraw, and husband, John, of New Albany; brother, James Trotter, Jr., and wife, Bonnie, of Calera, Alabama, and sister, Dianna Cabaniss, and husband, Willie, of Sweet Water, Alabama; ten grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Weldon; brother, Rommie Trotter; and sister, Bonnie Jones, and husband, Paul. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 1:00 P. M., in Glenfield Memorial Park, officiated by Reverend James Steele. Pallbearers are two grandsons, Nick Lane and Matt Lane. Visitation will be from 11:00 A. M. until 1:00 P. M. in Glenfield Funeral Home.
