Mary Nell Gordon

Mary Nell Gordon, 81, died Thursday at Diversicare in Ripley. She was born February 20, 1937, the daughter of E. C. and Inez Willis Ballard. Mrs. Gordon had been a resident of New Albany since 1991, having moved here from Aurora, Illinois. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and a retired employee of Seal Master.Survivors include grand sons, Michael and Braden Tuttle, and Christopher Gordon; granddaughters, Angie Noland, Amy Huber, Crystal Lokey, and Tasha White; sisters, Sally Harrison (Bruce) of Fayette, AL, Pat Warren of Saltillo, Judy Jones (Jerry) of Guntown, and Charlene Centanni (Tony) of Thibodeaux, LA; and a brother, Carley Ballard (Patsy) of Shannon; great grandchildren, Caleb and Connor Bishop, Allyson Dykes, Heather and Breanna Smith, and Bentley Jo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Gordon; two sons, Don and Danny Gordon; a daughter, Brenda Underwood; a sister, Ruth Bruce; and two brothers, Carl and Paul Ballard. Her funeral service will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home on Sunday, August 19, 2019, at 2 P. M. with burial following in Glenfield Memorial Park. Brother Louie Williams will officiate.  Visitation will be from 12 P. M. until 2 P. M.
