Mary Jo Chism, 71, died Friday, November 20, 2020, at her residence in Ripley. Mary was born in Union County on May 14, 1949, the daughter of Odie Wray Curtis and Helen Leone Hill Curtis. She was a Baptist associated with Faith Fellowship Baptist Church in Ripley. During her working career, Mary was a Child Care giver, and a homemaker. She enjoyed going to flea markets, her garden, and cooking. Survivors include a son, Robert Chism of Baldwyn; a daughter, Mary Holmes (special friend, Billy Hollands) of Ripley; two sisters, Sheila Garcia of Ripley and Helen Thorson of New Albany; eleven grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, Rayburn Chism and Steve Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Glenfield Funeral Home with Brother Larry Harrison, officiating. Burial will follow in Glenfield Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Monday, from 5:00 P. M. until 9:00 P. M. at the funeral home, and on Tuesday from 10:00 A M. until service time.
