New Albany- Geneva Smith Price, age 80, of New Albany, MS, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS. Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 28, 2023 from 10 A.M. till 11 A.M., followed by a celebration of life service in the Glenfield Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Gerizim Cemetery in Myrtle, MS. Bro. Charles Cooper will officiate the services. Geneva was born on June 26, 1942, to Jessie David and Flora Pauline Floyd Smith in Union County. She grew up in the New Albany area. She later married her late husband Bill Price; they remained married for 38 years. She worked as a beautician, while also being a home maker. Geneva loved going to the casino, playing bingo, working in the yard, loved listening to country music, especially Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, and her dogs. She loved her family deeply, and was a fantastic mother. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Jessie David Smith, and Pauline Floyd Smith. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 38 years Bill Price, daughter Diane Lawman ,son Bobby Lee Price, and sister Mary Katherine Cooper Geneva is survived by her sons, Gary Price (Trissia) of Myrtle, MS, Tommy Price (Jo Ann) of Southaven, MS. Brothers, Jessie Smith (Barbara), James Thomas Smith (Rosie), and Johnny Smith. Grandchildren, Paige Price, Jennifer Price, Stacy Price, Ashley Price, Hershell Sammons, Amanda Price, Bobby Price, Anita Underwood, Sydney Kirkpatrick, Cheryl Bunton, Christy Whitley, Jason Campbell. She also leaves behind her best friend, Mary Simmons. Pallbearers will be Sydney Kirkpatrick, Hershell Sammons, Trey Bunton, Bernie Sweeney, Shelby Beam, and Robert Smith.
