It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Gene Moody, age 63, who departed this life on November 3, 2026. Born on September 20, 1963, in New Albany, Mississippi, Donald was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Donald dedicated much of his life to working as a factory worker, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to providing for his family. He was known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his generous spirit-known to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
A man who cherished family above all, Donald loved spending time with his wife, Gladys Moody, and his children, Levi Moody, Abby Smith (John), Lucus Prather (Hannah McDaniel), Pam Clements (James), and Heather Coker (Corey) . He was a proud grandfather to Mckinzie Moody (Christian Cook), Kallie'Anna Clements, Collen Coker, Hailey Coker, River Coker, Colton Moody, Kayden Moody, Chelsea Smith, Benjamin Smith, Terry Smith, Savanna Smith, and Preston Smith. Donald is survived by his loving siblings, Danny Moody (Stephanie), Mary Willard, and Pattie Hale (Daniel). Donald also anticipated the joy of great-grandfatherhood with the soon to be arrival of Graysonn Cook.
Donald was preceded in death by: Father James Moody, Mother Mamie Moody, First Wife Rosanna Moody, Son Shane Moody, Brothers Johnnie Moody, James Moody, Kenneth Moody, Tommy Moody, Tinker Moody, Wallace Moody, Billy Moody, Sister Maryann Moody.
Donald had a passion for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, where he found peace and joy. His faith was an essential part of his life; he was baptized at West Tallahatchie Baptist Church, where he nurtured his spiritual beliefs and connected with his community.
Funeral services will be held at Glenfield Funeral Home to celebrate Donald's life, with visitation on Friday November 5th from 5-8 p.m. and on Saturday starting at 1p.m. with service to follow at 2 pm in the Glenfield Funeral Home Chapel honoring the profound impact he had on those around him.
