Doris Wray

Doris Anne Wray, 71, of the Buchanan Community died Friday, October 21, 2016, at New Albany Health and Rehab. She was born February 9, 1945, in Lee County, the daughter of the late Hoy Lee and Reba Matkins Bennett. Mrs. Wray was a member of Buchanan Baptist Church and the New Albany Extension Quilting Club. She had worked for Comfort Care before becoming disabled.     Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 P. M. at Glenfield Funeral Home, with Brother Charlie Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 P. M. and go until 9 P. M. on Sunday at the funeral home.    Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Chunn and husband, Glenn, of Pontotoc; sister, Glenda Holden of Pinedale; grandchildren, Kyle Vernon, Korey Vernon, and Brittany Vernon; and 5 great-grandchildren.     She was preceded in death by her husband, James Brooks Wray and her brother, James Bennett.
